Tower Paddle Boards Xplorer Inflatable SUP
We all have different tastes and needs, yet, sometimes we all look for similar things like quality, practicality and good performance.
The good thing about inflatable SUP boards is that they come in different sizes, colors and shapes; so that everyone can find the perfect board that best suits their needs. The Tower this time is here with their beast iSUP board: the Xplorer.
Tower Paddle Boards is proud to introduce their huge iSUP board; The Xplorer. It’s 14 feet tall which is awesomely incredible, 32 inches wide and 8 inches thick which is beyond epic. I’m personally not into big boards but I can’t deny the greatness of the Xplorer once you look at it fully inflated; its simple and authentic design simulates hard boards and adds a classy sense to it.
Also, the 4 inches pointy nose rocker that you can see in the pictures is what makes the Xplorer a special board; it makes it fast and perfect for racing and long distance touring. Additionally, I found that you can play yoga on this iSUP as if you’re on dry land; it’s rigid, sturdy and very stable thanks to the 8 inches thickness which is the best you can get on the market.
What contributes to the rigidity of the Xplorer is how stiff it becomes after you inflate it; its whole body is made of extremely rugged materials like those you’d find on the highly regarded Zodiac boats and extreme river rafts which will turn the board into a rock-hard platform that almost impossible to bend or flex. That being said, I must mention that the Xplorer can take up to 700 lbs; I know, it’s crazy. That means you can always have someone on board with you, yet, unlike the Tower Adventurer 2; you won’t find a bungee system to carry extra cargo on board.
Now, the longer the board is the faster it’ll be: that’s why you should expect nothing but speed and smooth glide while paddling on the Xplorer thanks to the 14 feet length. It’s seriously a beast if you ask me; rigidity and speed are both fused here to make the experience of owning an inflatable SUP board a special one because even though the Xplorer is a huge board it’s still inflatable and that means you can deflate it and roll it up to 1 foot in diameter and 37″ wide. I realized that it might be heavier than other similar models like the 9’10” feet Tower Adventurer 1 but it’s still transportable and practical.
An important feature about any inflatable SUP board is the traction pad; the one we have here is of great quality and it’ll support your feet comfortably whenever you make a move. Also, you’ll find one central removable fin which does a good job tracking through the water. Moreover, the Tower Xplorer 14′ SUP board features two D-rings; a towing ring on the nose, and a leash attachment ring on the tail. It also comes with a central carry handle to facilitate carrying the board around when it’s fully inflated.
Now as a package, the Xplorer comes with a 3-piece adjustable aluminum paddle which is highly functional as it can fit any paddler’s height. Also, a hand pressure pump is included so you can inflate your board anywhere. I honestly haven’t tried it yet because I usually prefer to use the electric one. Being mentioned, the Xplorer needs only 11 PSI to be completely inflated and reach maximum rigidity.
Last but not least, you can notice that this inflatable SUP board is not featured with a carry backpack which is quite disappointing; such a big guy needs to be carried comfortably. Also, a repair kit is missing though it’s unlikely to damage the Xplorer if you’re a friendly user and take good care of your board.
At this point, all that I have left to say is that the Xplorer is honestly the beast iSUP any big guy would be looking for; it’s huge; yet, extremely portable, it’s inflatable; yet, it’s extremely rigid and durable.
