Vilano is one of the brands which I always feel great reviewing one of their products; they’re good quality and they’re made to suit the largest customers’ platform possible. Inflatable stand up paddle boards are one of Vilano’s specialties; you’ll get to choose from a long list of iSUPs the one that is best for you; it can be a yoga board, fishing, touring or racing, you just make your mind about it.

Stand up paddle boarding has become a very popular water sport because it’s friendly and easy to learn for everyone. Also, every iSUP is featured with pretty functional features and details which are the reason why It’s better to get an inflatable board instead of a solid one.

Vilano 12' touring-race inflatable SUP Board review

The Vilano 12′ Touring/Race is one of those iSUPs that you won’t regret; it is 12 feet tall, 31 inches wide and 6 inches thick with a V-shaped sharp and pointy nose which is designed specifically for speed making it great for racing and long distance paddling.

Even though I just mentioned that I’d get an inflatable board instead of a solid,non-inflatable one, the Vilano 12′ Touring/Race SUP is actually made to look like an authentic one; 12 feet or more is what a hard board would measure to guarantee maximum speed, however, there is the Voyager model which is a smaller all-round iSUP board if you think that this one is too big for you.

Vilano 12' Touring/Race inflatable stand up paddle board reviewAlso, the material with which the Vilano 12′ touring/race iSUP board is made makes it a strong board that is great for exploring water bodies, rivers or lakes; the high grade PVC material and Korean drop stitch construction makes it nearly indestructible.

Further, a good iSUP is one that is sturdy and stable as to help you maintain your balance; the Vilano 12′ touring/race iSUP board is 6 inches thick which makes it really rigid and balanced.

Additionally, this inflatable SUP board comes with a large diamond grooved pad for maximum grip; this latter covers 2 thirds of the board’s back and it’s really comfortable and functional.

Add to that the fact that this board can take up to 15 PSI which is enough to turn it so hard and rigid that you wouldn’t believe it’s the same board that was deflated minutes ago.

Once it’s fully inflated, the Vilano 12′ touring/race iSUP board can hold up to 340 lbs for a weight limit; you neither have to paddle alone nor empty handed; there’ll always be space and capacity for company (a pet or a friend) and extra cargo.

Speaking of which, the Vilano 12′ touring/race iSUP board is featured with 11 D-rings; the first 4 on the nose are connected with a bungee cord to allow securing tools or cargo to the board, while another 4 are on the sides and are meant to attach a kayak seat or a backrest.

Vilano 12" iSUP board reviewThe new thing is that, in addition to the traditional carry handle, Vilano has featured most of their upgraded iSUP boards with 2 extra D-rings on the side rail as to attach a shoulder strap to them, and carry the inflated board around in extreme comfort.

The last D-ring is on the tail and it’s dedicated for safety leash attachment as usual. A great example of how much D-rings can add to an iSUP is the Vilano Sport/Fishing; with 16 D-rings this board is a total monster.

Now, beneath the tail, you’re going to find a large central removable fin which tracks well in all types of water conditions, and that right there is going to enhance the performance of the board as a whole looking at the V-shaped nose which is meant to slice through the water fast and smoothly.

All that’s been mentioned ahead is one part of the whole thing; the other part concerns the all-inclusive package in which the Vilano 12′ touring/race iSUP board comes in.

First, you’ll find a 3 piece adjustable paddle that can be adjusted anywhere between 65.5 and 86 inches. Second, a pump with integrated pressure gauge is included, and third, the previously mentioned shoulder strap is part of the package.

Finally, one of the greatest things about iSUPs is that they’re extremely portable, and for that you’ll get a carry backpack which will allow you to pack the deflated board with everything else in it; no mess, and no large spaces needed. Yet, if I could ask for anything, it would be the missing repair kit because, you never know, you might need it one day in case something bad happened. Apart from that, I couldn’t be more excited about a racing/touring iSUP like I am now.
