I can’t remember the last time I was so excited about something like I am now about the Aqua Marina’s inflatable stand up paddle boards; they’re awesome. I have tried the Fusion and the Monster so far and I can tell you that they have delivered a great performance, but at the end of the day I settled for the Aqua Marina Vapor for one main reason; its bright blue color. I’m kidding. The Vapor is one of a hell practical iSUP, but yes, I’m seriously into that blue thing going on there.
Aqua Marina Vapor Inflatable SUP Board
Aqua Marina is known for its quality inflatable stand up paddle boards, that’s a fact. What is also something to admire about it is the variety of sizes and colors they offer and from which you can choose what suits you best. The Vapor is one of these boards that you can connect with instantly; it’s 10.10 feet tall, 30 inches wide and 4 inches thick. Looking at it, it reminds me of the Fusion except that this latter is 6 inches thick with a difference in color.
The Aqua Marina Vapor is an all-around SUP board that is perfect for beginners and anyone who’s into recreational paddling and small waves riding because the fact that it’s 4 inches thick makes it really light and easy to control as it’ll knife through the water like a dolphin. This board is optimized to be relatively extra fast thanks to its sleek design. Add to that the double-wall drop stitch core material which extremely stiffens the iSUP to a point where it’ll be so hard to bend it or see it flex as long as your weight doesn’t exceed the recommended weight limit of 253lbs.
If you’re a beginner and you’re going to get an iSUP for the first time, the Vapor might be your guy. It’s neither too heavy to transport, nor too big to be fully controlled in the water. It weighs only 20.9 lbs and can hold up to 253 lbs on board. Additionally, you’ll find that 7 D-rings are featured on this iSUP board; four of which are connected with a bungee cord which will allow you to secure extra cargo or tools to the board. Another 2 D-rings are on the sides and are there to enable the use of kayak seat, while the last D-ring is right on the board’s tail to attach a safety leash.
Now, what I think makes inflatable stand up paddle boards more functional and practical than hard ones is that they come with a traction pad which supports your balance and movements greatly. The Vapor is no different; a black EVA deck pad covers the majority of the board’s back and matches perfectly with the blue sides. It is also heat embossed for maximum comfort and durability. You’ll also find a carry handle in the middle of the board to facilitate carrying it around after you inflate it.
Speaking of which, inflating the Vapor should be a piece of cake thanks to the optimum air pressure that is part of the package. You can take it anywhere with you, and it’ll pump your board to its maximum air capacity to make it hard, stiff, and rigid (15 psi).
Another item to be found is the fin, actually; you’ll find 3 removable fins: one of which is central and large, while the other 2 are smaller and are on the sides. Fins are an essential part for any stand up paddle board because they’ll support your movement every time you change directions and they’ll make gliding on the water way smoother.
[alert-note]As for a tip; make sure to always put the tail of the board into the water first before you ride it, that way, the fins won’t get damaged on the rocky shores.[/alert-note]
So far, this package is perfect, but we’re not done yet. The Vapor is featured with its own paddle which will save you the trouble of ordering one separately. It’s a 3-piece aluminum paddle with a T-shape hand-grip for better and comfortable control, and the fact that it breaks down to 3 pieces adds to the portability of the board as a whole.
Finally; a Magic backpack will make it all easier for you to pack and store all of the previously mentioned items. Also, you’ll be able to carry the whole thing on your back anywhere you go.
An inflatable stand up paddle board like the Aqua Marina Vapor is the ultimate SUP board that’ll serve your daily life’s requirements. Yet, a repair kit is missing; but it’s not that bad if you’re a friendly user.
